High-strength insulating flanges are required in order to carry out the cathodic corrosion protection in the case of high-pressure pipelines. The desired pressure resistance is achieved by means of metal reinforcement so that it is possible to start from a basic material consisting of a low-strength plastic or plastic-composite material. The mechanical and electrical characteristics of the reinforced insulating flange conform to DIN 2470 Part 2. <IMAGE>
