A description is given of an actuating device on washbasins and/or sinks or mixer units, having a rod guided in the housing, by means of which rod a discharge valve on the washbasin or sink is opened or closed by axial tension or compression. In order to actuate two separate valves by means of the rod arrangement, in the case of said actuating device, it is proposed that the rod be rotatably guided in the housing and in a discharge-valve actuating member and, in addition, be connected to a separate water-supply valve for a further water consumer, e.g. washing machine or dishwasher.
