The invention relates to a device for protecting a lock-mechanism housing against the penetration of moisture, in which the lock-mechanism housing, which is arranged in the end face of a door interior of a vehicle door and the lock mechanism of which is connected to a separately arranged actuating device by transmission members, is covered laterally and upwardly towards the door interior against water penetrating from a window well. According to the invention, the protective device is formed by a moulded shell which screens off from the lock region water which penetrates into the window well, in such a way that the water can overflow into the portion of the door interior on the same side as the lock mechanism only underneath the lock-mechanism housing. Furthermore, each transmission member coupled to the lock mechanism is guided round the moulded shell in the region near the lock.
