The spreader for granular or powdery material from a hopper has two or more driven contra-rotating spreader heads on vertical axes. The material is delivered eccentrically to the spreader head. The heads are so shaped and driven and the feed system is so arranged that each tool scatters over an equal-size sector. A shaft couples the heads (3,4) together via bevel gears, and is also coupled via a bevel gearbox to a mechanism adjusting their rotational speed.
