A self-braking electric motor having a disk which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the rotor of the electric motor and interacts with mutually opposite surfaces of two devices which themselves cannot rotate but can approach one another; cam-like attachments are provided for the mechanical removal of the two devices from one another, which attachments are arranged between the two devices and are connected to an operating element; a flexible ring is mounted on the two devices which slight elastic prestressing along its circumference, which ring covers the intermediate space formed between said devices and through which the said cam-like attachments pass in the radial direction. <IMAGE>
