PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a treatment amount of waste per unit time by a method wherein a chlorine content is removed from gasified gas of waste and burnt in a boiler for commercial use. SOLUTION: Waste H is carbonized and char (carbide) T and coal C are mixed together and by burning the mixture in a boiler 1 for commercial use of a thermal power generating device, the waste H is treated. In a method for treating the waste described above by partially burning the waste H by a gasifying furnace 5, gasified gas B containing chlorine and char T are generated. By separating the pulverized char T mixed in gasified gas B by a separating device 6, the char T and the coal C are mixed together. By removing at least a chlorine content from the gasified gas B after a separation process by a chlorine removing device 7, dechlorined gasified gas E is generated and the dechlorined gasified gas E is generated, the dechlorined gasified gas E is burnt in a heat source device 10, and forms a heat source for the boiler 1 for commercial use.
