The knitted structure consists of (a) yarn (I) which becomes the true weft yarn when the mesh is broken by the ripper, and yarn (II) forms the classic picot, and together with yarn (III) maintain the unity of the stitch corresp. to the knitted fabric being mfd.; (b) a yarn (IV) which keeps yarns (V) fully coupled during its journey; (c) a yarn (V) which joins the picot with the rest of the stitch; and (d) a weft yarn (III) which facilitates and ensures unity of all stitches making up the width of the knitted part being made.
