4-(4-(2-Ar 2-(1H-azol-1-yl methyl) 1,3-dioxolan-4 -yl methoxy) phenyl) piperazine of formula (I), and its addition salts and tautomeric forms, in which Ar is phenyl with 0-3 halogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy substit. gps., Q is CH or N and R is H or lower alkyl or alkanoyl, are made by reaction of a 1-Ar 2-(1H-azol-1-yl) ethanone of formula (II) or its acetal or addn. salt with a 4-(40(2,3-dihydroxy propoxy) phenyl) piperazine of formula (III) or its addn. salt, in a suitable acetalising medium.
