PURPOSE:To perform the boring of a specified diameter on a workpiece by adjusting the tool position at a quill end to change the boring radius of gyration by cutting tool by making a wedge body advance or retreat by reciprocating motion of the working rod of an advance or retreat adjusting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A working rod 41 is reciprocated according to the commands from an NC controller (not shown in the figure). The advance or retreat of a wedge body 35 cause by the reciprocating motion of the rod 41 makes a swing body 20 and a quill 30 swing in the rotary direction of a pivot 26 determining the position in the axial direction of the wedge body 35. Since the radius of gyration of the end of a tool 31 and the end of the quill 30 is, therefore, to be specified value, a head stock 11 is advanced and a workpiece is bored in specified diameter. |
