<p>The compsn. is made by (a) forming an emulsion of a 12-18C alkyl (ether) sulphate in water at 50-70 deg.C in a stirred reactor, which is sealed and connected to a vacuum of 0.1-0.7 atmos. to remove air occlusions; (b) slowly introducing by suction aid with slow stirring, expanded laminar silicate; (c) continuing dispersion by stirring under vacuum until it reaches 50 deg.C; (d) pumping in a fatty acid alkylolamide of formula (I), in which R is 8-18C alkyl, x is 2 or 3, m is 1-5 and n is 0-5; and (e) adjusting the viscosity to 0-15,000 mPas, with a pref. pH of 5-8.</p> |
