PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a decorative material good in abrasion resistance without generating appearance inferiority such as abrasion, a stripe or gloss change on a coating roller or printing plate. SOLUTION: A decorative material D wherein a resin layer 2 having a large number of solid particles P bonded to the surface thereof and/or embedded therein is provided on a base material at least as a decorative layer is produced by sprinkling the solid particles over a resin layer 2A held to a non-flowable and sticky state or a flowable state by a rotary blade type or air nozzle type blast device to bond the solid particles P to the surface of the resin layer 2A or embedding them in the resin layer 2A and solidifying the resin layer 2A to bring the same to a non-sticky or non-flowable state to form the resin layer wherein the solid particles P are fixed. The resin layer 2 may be formed by transfer and a backing substrate may be bonded to the rear surface of the decorative material D.
