An air nozzle appts. for directing the air flow against the underside of the orifice plate of a glass fiber drawing forehearth comprises a section for introducing the air which includes a manifold with at least one air supply hole, and an air nozzle section with a number of nozzle section channels connected to the manifold and including a number of ribs of similar shape, each having opposed side surfaces and opposed end portions. The ribs are arranged with their side surfaces located adjacent to each other to provide a nozzle block. The ribs are formed on at least one of the opposed side surfaces, with a longitudinal recess defining the nozzle channels between the adjacent ribs.
