PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve steering stability without deteriorating high speed durability by reducing the amount of rayon fiber cords used by making an outermost carcass layer, which is located next to a belt layer in a tread part, with the rayon fiber cords, and the other carcass layers with polyester fiber cords. SOLUTION: Inner and outer carcass layers 1, 2 are laid across in a bead part 3 and each end of the two layers is folded back outwardly around a bead core 4. On the outer side of the outer carcass layer 2 in a tread part 5, inner and outer belt layers 6d, 6u are arranged along the periphery. The outer carcass layer 2 is made with rayon fiber cords. The other carcass layers (the inner carcass layer 1) are made with polyester fiber cords. Also, the polyester fiber cords sampled from the carcass layers of a vulcanized tire is set to have an intermediate elongation of 5.5% or less at 44N.
