PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively restrain emission of unburned gas containing harmful components such as carbon monoxide even in a comparatively small and simple structure. SOLUTION: The incinerator comprises an exhaust stack 7a provided in the ceiling part of a furnace body, a fire grate 15 horizontally arranged in the furnace body, a combustion chamber 20 formed above the fire grate 15, a under fire-grate chamber 21 formed below the fire grate 15 and a combustion burner 23 for combusting objects to be burned in the combustion chamber 20. An air passage section 16 having an air duct is horizontally arranged in the fire grate lower chamber 21, and a plurality of air supply holes for supplying air in the air duct to the vicinity of the fire grate 15 in the fire grate lower chamber 21 are provided above the air passage section 16. An air inlet hole 9 is provided in the wall of the furnace body contacting the air passage section 16 to supply air to the air supply holes from the air inlet hole 9 through the air duct of the air passage section 16.
