FIBRINOLYTICALLY ACTIVE AGENT AND A METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF

A disclosure is given of the discovery that tissues of earthworms belonging to the family of Lumbricidae contain certain fibrinolytically active ingredients in good contents and the invention provides a method for the preparation of a therapeutically useful medicament having a fibrinolytic activity from the tissues of earthworms. The method comprises extracting the earthworm tissues with an aqueous extractant to give an extract solution followed by concentration or dehydration, preferably, accompanied by either preceding or succeeding purification of the active ingredients.
