The machine has a spinnable tube with a pulsator located eccentrically on its base and a projection in the tub diametrically opposite to the pulsator to resist rotation of liquid in the tub, with the resistance of both the pulsator and the projection balanced w.r.t. the tub axis of rotation. The projection may be formed inwardly of and integrally with the tub sidewall or base and may bridge from sidewall to base. The projection may extend from the lower end of at least one of the multiple vertical vanes forming channels along the sidewall, to guide water forced along under centrifugal force, or may be located on a strainer in the tub base. The arrangement minimizes abnormal vibration during spinning.
