A CRT terminal with a single processor has a microcomputer BASIC mode. The system, operated in CRT terminal mode, can be converted to microcomputer BASIC mode by the function key. The clock for data communication, the interupt timing signal and the display synchronization circuit are generated by the programmable counters. In the BASIC mode, the system always checks the programmable communication interface to detect the host computer signal and to interupt subroutine procedures are excuted when host signal is detected.
