Insulation of a coil used in electrical apparatus

A ceramic-like high temperature insulation for electrical coils is provided by mixing a silicone resin, synthetic fluoro-mica and a devitrified mica glass, impregnating an electrical coil with such material, curing the material and then treating the material to an elevated temperature about 300 DEG C. The elevated temperature treatment may be effected either prior to or during use of the coil.
