A device for detection of microorganisms in liquid samples has endless belt conveyor which transports analysis plates with sample chambers to analysis zone and dwell zone whose temperature can be regulated, is new. Device for determination of microorganisms in liquid samples comprises a sample preparation station (10) with a transporter (32, 36) which continuously feeds cuvettes (26) to a dosing station (12). This contains a pipette (14) for removing samples for the cuvettes and inserting them in chambers forming a matrix in an analysis plate. An endless belt conveyor (18) then transports them to an analysis zone (16) and a dwell zone whose temperature can be regulated.
