Two yarn legs drafted and spun out next to one another in the same drafting unit (its last pair of galettes (1) is shown in the Figure) are twisted together at the twisting-in point (4). If one of these legs breaks, the broken piece comes in front of the orifice (7) of a suction nozzle (5), in the indentation (8) of which the still intact leg runs. The broken piece is drawn by the suction flow of the nozzle up to the intact leg and is thus twisted in by the latter. Advantage: automatic retwisting-in of the broken leg by means of the intact leg still running, and consequently no interruptions in operation. Split-off fibres running along on the (lower) cylinder (1) are sucked off by means of a further suction nozzle (6). Advantage: the avoidance of windings around the lower cylinder. Preferably, an element (10) periodically interrupts such a fibre flow on the underside of the lower cylinder (1). For this purpose, this element (10) is designed as an oscillating stripper or as a periodically blowing blow nozzle. Advantage: the said fibre flow (this can even relate to the entire broken leg) is forced towards the twisting-in point (4), where it is twisted in again. <IMAGE>
