The title compds. I [X = S, NH; Y = CH, C CH3, N; R = H, hydroxymethyl, alkyl containing 1-6 carbons, -(CH2)nAr, -NH2, -NHR', -NHCOR' (R' = alkyl containing 1-6 carbons, -(CH2)mAr; n = integer 2-4; m = integer 0-4; Ar = phenyl) were prepd. Thus, 2-guanidino-4- thiazolecarboxylic acid 2-propion imidohydrazide was refluxed 2hr. and then cooled and precipitated, via recrystn., to give 2-guanidino- 4-(3-ethyl-5-1,2,4-triazolyl) thiazole. The compds. I activate stomach secretions and inhibit histamine H2 activity and are useful ad a medicine for excese stomach acid and ulcers. |
