PURPOSE:To eliminate deterioration of electrode and realize long life of battery by forming the linear electrodes of hollow elongated case type oxygen gas concentration battery element and convering the surface of electrodes with the air- tight ceramic protection film, except for the edge portions. CONSTITUTION:A platinum line electrode 3, lead line 4 and terminal 5 are provided to the external surface of a raw sheets 1a, 1b of solid electrolyte ceramics mainly consisting of zirconia, while an electrode line 3', lead line 4' and terminal 5' to the internal surface thereof. The electrode at the external surface is covered with a ceramics protection film 7, except for the edge portion which is in contact with the raw sheet 1. The sheets 1a, 1b are formed into a hollow elongaged case holding the frame type raw sheet 2 and thereby forming the oxygen gas concentration battery element. Therefore, deterioration of electrodes 3, 3' can be suppressed by a protection film 7 without deteriorating response characteristic even when the exhaust gas is in contact with the electrode surface and long life can be also attained. |
