PURPOSE:To perform preliminary heating of a light source uniform in a short time by placing the heat generating body of a thermal head at a position shortest in distance from the light source on the plane of arrangement of the heat generating body. CONSTITUTION:The holding member of a light source 18 performs preliminary heating and holding member of the thermal head 6 of a recording section are unified before lighting a reading section, and the heat generating body 6a of the thermal head 6 is placed at a position shortest in distance from the light source 18 on the plane of arrangement of the heat generating body of the thermal head. As preliminary heating of the light source 18 is performed by the heat generating body 6a, heating can be made at high efficiency.
