PURPOSE:To equalize all the number of tracks with the number of still pictures made of composite signals of the 525 scanning line system by selecting the total number of tracks to the 6/5 time number of tracks originally formed in recording time necessary for recorded program information, and making recording. CONSTITUTION:Analog recording tracks TA are formed of 6 continuous tracks, and digital recording tracks TD are recorded and formed in next 30 tracks. When recording information signals of 60min on the same face of a disk thus formed, 45,000 tracks are recorded in total supposing that composite video signals of field frequency 50Hz, number of canning lines 625 system are recorded at the rate of 4 fields per track. In this case, number of recorded still pictures of the tracks TD is only 1,250 (=45,000/36). Accordingly, recording time is made to 6/5 times that of recording composite video signals of 525 scanning line system and number of recorded still pictures of tracks TD is made equal to the number of still pictures by composite video signals of 525 scanning line system.
