PURPOSE:To improve the utilizing efficiency of a recording medium and to realize high density recording by making a recording occupied area on a recording medium of a sound signal recording track formed with a fixed head and a sound signal recoding track recorded with a rotary head nearly identical, and forming the sound signal recording track on the same part of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The track of width W2 (1,998mum) can be used in any division, and a track width of the sound signal recording tracks A1 and A2 is selected respectively as W3 (700mum) while taking a guard band width between the sound signal recording tracks A1 and A2 into consideration, a guard band width between the sound signal recording tracks A1 and A2 is selected as W4 (400mum) and a guard band width between a time code track TC and the sound signal recording track A2 is selected as W5 (450mum). That is, since the sound signal recording tracks A1 and A2 formed by a fixed head and the guard band part (1,800mum)=2XW3+W4 are have narrower width than the W2 (1,998mum), they are formed within the range of the W2.
