PURPOSE:The titled derivative having improved electrical conductivity, obtained by a milder condition than the existing reduction method, by calcining a blend of a titanate and a compound containing a different element. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. titanate such as a titanate shown by the formula I [M is alkaline (earth) metal; n is 1-10; x is 1 or 2], a low-order oxide of titanate shown by the formula II (0<y<2), or their hydrates is blended with (B) about 0.001-100pts.wt. compound (e.g., antimony trioxide) containing an element (V, Nb, Sb, etc.) except nitrogen, and if necessary, (C) a calcining auxiliary. Then, the prepared blend is packed into a heat-resistant container, and it is calcined at about 600-1,500 deg.C for about 10min-8hr, to give an electrically-conductive titanate derivative.
