PURPOSE:To obtain excellent image stability, by using a sulfonyldiphenol compound and tetrabromobisphenol A as couplers and providing a protective layer based on a water-soluble polymer onto a thermal color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein a thermal color forming layer containing a leuco dye and a coupler as main components is provided to a support, a sulfonyldiphenol compound and tetrabromobisphenol A are used as couplers and a protective layer based on a water-soluble polymer is provided onto the thermal layer. As the sulfonyldiphenol compound, 4,4'-sulfonyldiphenol is designated and used in an amount of 1-5pts.wt. of the leuco dye. By this method, excellent image stability is obtained. |
