<p>PURPOSE:To weld and fix the cathode base, cup, cathode sleeve and other parts firmly, by placing a prescribed kneaded adhesive material on the inner bottom of the cup, by inserting the cathode base into the cup with force, and finally by irradiating the outside of the cup bottom with a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:An adhesive material 24 consisting of a mixed powder of Mo and Re kneaded with an organic binder is placed in the bottom 221 of a cup 22. A cathode base 1 is inserted into the cup 22. The cathode base 1 and the cup are pressed by a pressurizing tool composed of punches 31, 32 and a die 33 so that the adhesive material 24 will be spread between the inner bottom surface of the cup 22 and the bottom surface of the cathode base 1, and the inner sidewall of the cup 22 and the sidewall of the cathode base 1, respectively. After removing the joined cup and base from the pressurizing tool, it is irradiated with a laser beam from the outside 222 of the bottom of the cup 22 for fixing at plural points by laser welding. Thus, according to this method, the cathode base, cup and cathode sleeve can be firmly welded and fixed.</p> |
