PURPOSE:To reduce the number of circuit component parts, by a system wherein the driving timings of a spacing pulse motor and a printing head in a dot printer and the driving period of the head are controlled by a single timer. CONSTITUTION:Timing data Sn calculating from the common measure of the periods of the driving timings for the spacing pulse motor (d) and the printing head (b) are set on the TM (timer) 4 by a CPU1 each time. Time counting is started by a timer clock 4a (clock period: tCLK), and after the lapse of time of SnXtCLK, a timer output 4b is generated, whereby the phase of the pulse motor (d) is switched over to control the spacing velocity.
