PURPOSE:To stop the dislocation of a superconductive wire during conduction and to maintain a stable superconductive state by pressing in a sandwich construction while pressure-welding a side arc spacer on a keystone shaped superconductive wire at both ends of a coil formation intermediate product. CONSTITUTION:A coil formation intermediate product 11 is made by winding a keystone shaped superconductive wire 10, in which a copper layer is formed on the surface of a superconductive wire of a cross-sectional rough inverted trapezoid, closely wound plural turns like a race track. Subsequently, the coil formation intermediate product 11 is mounted on the surface of a male force 12 of a semi-circular cylinder shape. In this moment, side arc spacers 13 are pressure- welded to contact semi-circular side faces 14 with both ends of the coil formation intermediate product 11. A radius of curvature of the side face 14 is set suitably depending on the configuration of the edge of a saddle shaped superconductive coil to be manufactured. Then the saddle shaped superconductive coil is manufactured by pressure-welding the female force 17 having a concave 16 of a cross-sectional semicircular cylinder shape adjoining the male force 12 in order to press the coil formation intermediate product 11 in a sandwich construction. |
