PURPOSE:To obtain the titled roll holding surely molten zinc on the surface, picking up it by a fixed amount, and attaining a uniform extent of hot dip galvanizing by roughening the surface of a roll coated with a corrosion resistant metal and coating the roughened surface with iron. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the roll 3 having the surface layer of a stainless metal 5 is coated with Cr or a Cr alloy 6 as a corrosion resistant metal, and the coated surface is roughened 7. The roughened surface is coated with iron 8 to obtain the desired roll 3 for hot dip galvanizing. When the roll 3 is used, molten zinc kept at 450-500 deg.C can be uniformly stuck by hot dip galvanizing by 30- 200g/m<2> with 2-8Ra roughness. It is preferable that the roughened surface is coated with iron by spraying, press bonding or rubbing and baking, and an iron layer of 5-100mum thickness is well effective. |
