PURPOSE:To obtain a hot dip galvanized iron-base metallic wire having superior heat resistance, corrosion resistance, adhesion and workability by coating the outside of an iron, steel or iron alloy wire with a Zn alloy contg. prescribed percentages of Al and Be and Pb restricted to a specified amount or below by hot dipping at a prescribed temp. above the m.p. of the Zn alloy. CONSTITUTION:The outside of an iron-base metallic wire made of iron, carbon steel, special steel contg. elements other than carbon or an iron alloy is uniformly coated with a Zn alloy contg. 0.2-14% Al, 0.0001-0.01% Be and <=0.03% Pb by hot dipping at the m.p. +(10-100 deg.C) to obtain a heat-resistant hot dip galvanized iron-base metallic wire having higher heat resistance than a conventional hot dip galvanized wire. The resulting wire also has a favorable surface state, high adhesion and workability. Since the Pb content is restricted as mentioned above, the coarsening of the grains is prevented and the adhesion and workability are controlled. |
