PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of a cyan image by processing a silver halide color photosensitive material contg. a specified mercapto-5-pyrazolone type magenta coupler in a specified amt. of the final bath of soluble iron salt. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide color photographic sensitive material is prepared by forming on a support a photosensitive layer contg. at least one kind of 4-mercapto-5-pyrazolone type magenta coupler represented by the formula in which W is an aryl group; X is an alkyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group; and Y is an acylamino, ureido, or anilino group. This photosensitive material is processed with the final soln. contg. at least 1X10<-4>mol of soluble iron salt. As a result, fading of a cyan image ad increase of yellow stains can be prevented remarkably, and a large amt. of rinse water can be saved.
