PURPOSE:To prevent the leading end of paper from impinging to a delivery guide part, by allowing a carriage to occupy a position other than the home position thereof at the point of time when at least the leading end of the paper is entering the delivery guide paper in feeding the paper. CONSTITUTION:A paper sensor is provided in the downstream side of the feed roller contacted with a platen in a rolling state in the paper passing route from a paper feed part. When the leading end paper 5 fed from a paper feed part is detected by the above mentioned paper sensor, the detection signal thereof is applied to the control apparatus of a printing man body and a carriage 15 moves from the home position thereof over a predetermined distance on the basis of the movement control signal from the above mentioned control apparatus, the leading of the paper 5 passes a printing part in a state trained over the platen 10 to enter a delivery guide member 17 and subsequently returned to the home position by the order of the control apparatus of the above mentioned main body. Therefore, the paper guide 25 of the carriage 15 applies guide action to the paper 5 over the entire surface thereof and the leading end of the paper is sent into the delivery guide member 17 smoothly without being impinged thereto. |
