PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an AF survey instrument with satisfactory reliability and operability capable of speedily completing measurement and installation. SOLUTION: In the AF survey instrument 1 provided with a collimator 2, a distance measuring mechanism 3 for measuring the distance to an object to be measured 6, and an AF mechanism 4 for adjusting the location of a focus- adjusting lens 22 of the collimator 2, on the basis of distance data obtained via the distance measuring mechanism 3 or object image data obtained from the focal state of the object to be measured 6 by the AF mechanism 4, the focus-adjusting lens 22 is moved to a location in focus. |
