PURPOSE:To perform the monitor and control of a flame without using an ultraviolet ray detector, by providing a comparator for comparing the level of the signal, which is obtained by amplifying the DC component of the output signal of a photoelectric converter, with that of the reference signal from a level setting part. CONSTITUTION:The AC component based on specimen measuring light, which is obtained by transmitting the light for a light source lamp 1 through a specimen, is amplified by an AC amplifier 5 through a condenser 4 and processed by a signal processing part 6 to be sent to a level setting part 12. Further, the DC component based on the light generated from the flame 2 for atomizing the specimen is amplified by a DC amplifier 11 through resistors 9, 10 and a comparator 13, which compares the reference signal inputted from the level setting part 12 with the signal from the DC amplifier 11 and sends a signal to an alarm generation part, is provided. By this mechanism, a flame state is monitored and controlled without using an ultraviolet ray detector, and safety and reliability can be enhanced.
