摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the economy of an indirect cycle reactor by removing decay heat in a reactor pressure vessel without using an active component and reducing the size of a containment. SOLUTION: A main steam line 5 connecting to the heat exchanger 4 of an indirect cycle reactor is branched upstream a main steam isolation valve 25 and the branch pipe is connected to the heat exchanger 72 inside a pressure suppression pool 14 via an isolation valve 66. Similarly, a water supply pipe 6 is branched upstream an isolation valve 65 and the branch pipe is connected to the heat exchanger 72 via the isolation valve 66. By opening the isolation valves 65 and 66, the decay heat is discharged into the pressure suppression pool 14 from the heat exchanger 72. Condensate condensed by discharge is returned to the heat exchanger 4 to cool the pressure vessel 1 inside. The heat inside the pressure suppression pool 14 is moved from a condensation heat exchanger 41 to a radiator 43 outside the containment 11 to be discharged outside the containment 11.
