PURPOSE:To shorten efficiently sink byte search operation by writing the sink byte in synchronizing with a sector pulse specifying a sector position and detecting the sink byte in synchronizing with the sector pulse. CONSTITUTION:The location of each sector is set by a sector pulse 5 generated in an adaptor by an index signal generated at one revolution of a magnetic disc. A pulse 5 is inputted, a signal calculated by FF8, 9 is inputted, a sink byte write signal 3 is generated by converting a count value of a counter 4 counting the index signal and the sink byte being synchronizing information at recording start is recorded based on the signal 3. In reading the written sink byte, the sink byte is detected by outputting a sink byte search instruction from the adaptor to a drive through the use of a sink byte search signal obtained by converting the count value of a counter 4 with a signal in synchronizing with the pulse 5. Thus, the searching is executed efficiently in a short time. |
