PURPOSE:To manufacture a thin-walled cup-shaped article in a good yield and at a low cost by a simple process by forming a plate-shaped rough ground having a necessary thickness distribution by rotational forging, and subsequently, finishing it in a shape of a cup by means of drawing. CONSTITUTION:With regard to a manufacture of a cup-shaped article having an uneven thickness in a section of the axial direction, first of all, rotational forging is executed by using a die 9 for rotating around a vertical shaft A, and a punch 6 for rotating around an inclined shaft B. In this case, the conical surface of the punch 6 is brought into contact with a base material set on the die 9, the axis B is inclined by an angle beta, and a plate-shaped rough ground 12 is formed. Subsequently, the plate-haped rough ground 12 which has been formed is finished to a desired thin cup-shaped article 15 by using a punch 13 of a punch type and a die 14. In this way, the thin cup-shaped article can be manufactured in a good yield and at a low cost by a simple process.
