PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert the source image of low quality to the image of high quality in a comparatively short time. SOLUTION: For each pixel of the source image, the local area image of n×n size almost with the pixel as roughly a center is set and acquired. The image of 2n×2n size similar to the acquired local area image is detected by applying affine transformation to images around the local area image. The detected affine transformed image is reduced to the same size as the local area image and a distance (similarity) with the local area image is found. The affine transformed image most similar to the local area image is replaced with the local area image. The part overlapping respective affine transformed images is averaged and processed. The affine transformed image is acquired only when a fractalness is high but when the fractalness is low, the original local area image is used as it is. Thus, image quality can be improved while shortening processing time. |
