PURPOSE:To make developing agent resupplying operations which are always required when a developing device is used easier, by transferring a developer, whose toner containing quantity is detected as insufficient or nil by a remaining toner quantity detecting means, to a prescribed resupplying location. CONSTITUTION:A developing device successively moves plural developers using different colored toners to a developing location and performs developing operations. A developing agent D which is circulated at the inside of the developers is supplied to a photosensitive drum at an opening A exposed from a housing 24. Fibers 31 and 32 for detecting the remaining toner quantity are provided in each developer and, when each developer is set to the developing location, the fibers 31 and 32 are connected to a light source 41 and photoreceptor element 42 in a copying machine main body and a detecting system is established. When the detecting system is established, whether or not toner 27 for supplement exists in a clearance (a) is detected by the element 42 and, when it is detected that the toner 27 in the clearance (a) is insufficient in quantity or not toner exists in the clearance (a), a motor which rotates the developing device is driven and the developer which requires resupply of toner is moved to a toner resupplying location. Therefore, the toner resupplying operation which is always required when a developing device is used can be made easily. |
