PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and method that can process single color version image data and n-color version image data even when which of them are received and reproduce nearly the same color as a color of image data equivalent to the single color version image data and the n-color version image data. SOLUTION: An input image data recognition section 1 recognizes whether input image data are CMYK image data or monochromatic image data, when the input image data are the CMYK image data, the recognition section 1 gives the CMYK image data directly to a color conversion section 3, which converts the color of the data into C'M'Y'K' data. When the input image data are the monochromatic image data, the input image data recognition section 1 instructs an output of image data where C, M, Y are all 0 to a dummy data attachment section 2, attaches dummy image data to the monochromatic image data to obtain the CMYK image data and a color conversion section 3 conducts color conversion. Thus, the same reproduction is obtained even from the monochromatic image data or the CMYK image data equivalent to the monochromatic image data. |
