PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure excellent characteristics of pickups for various disk recording media without increasing the scale of the disk drives incorporating optical pickups and without complicating the inside mechanism. SOLUTION: An optical pickup 13 for recording and reproducing information on various kinds of disk media is provided with a first light emitting element 20a and a first photo acceptance element 20b for the first disk recording medium 100, a second light emitting element 24 positioned to minimize the coma aberration of the laser beam collected on the recording surface of the second disk, a second photo acceptance element 28 for the second disk, the first disk positioned and tilt adjusted to minimize the coma aberration of the laser beam radiated to the first disk and collected on the recording surfaces of the first disk while focusing the laser beam on the recording surface of the first or second disk, and an objective lens 15a doubled for the second disk. |
