PURPOSE:To obtain a hollow yarn capable of giving high permeation velocity to gas by supporting a uniform film layer capable of separating a specified gaseous component by a porous film base material under a partly contacting condition of the uniform film layer with the porous film base material. CONSTITUTION:For example, a thin coating film of a water-soluble polymer, such as polyvinyl alcohol, is formed on the surface of a porous base material, and a uniform film layer is formed thereon by the conventional process, then the uniform film layer 3 is supported with the porous film base material 1 by contacting partly with the porous base material 1 by removing the coating film of the water-soluble polymer by washing with water, etc. Fine porous hollow yarn having such built-up structure wherein spaces communicating to the fine pores 2 are formed between the porous film base material 1 and the uniform film layer 3, is thus obtd. By this constitution, when a specified gas such as oxygen is permeated the uniform film layer 3, whole surface 31, 32 of the porous film base material 1 side of the uniform film layer 3 is utilized effectively, and the permeation velocity of gas is increased.
