ELECTROLYSIS APPARATUS USING A DIAPHRAGM OF A SOLID POLYMER ELECTROLYTE

This electrolysis app. was made to electrolyze electrolytes or aq. solutions of alkali metal halogen, hydrochloric acid or sodiumsulfate. This app. is composed of a diaphragm of a solid polymer electrolyte and structural substances of the pos. and neg. poles positioned on either side of a diaphragm. A structural substance of electrodes has an electric conduction substrate of gas permeation(24) and an electrode catalyst layer of porous film(25). A porous electric conduction coating layer(27) is formed between the electrode catalyst layer of porous film(25) and a diaphragm of a solid polymer electrolyte(21).
