New process for the preparation of heterocyclylphenylformamidines of general formula I (I) wherein B represents a guanidino group or a hydrogen atom; R represents a linear or branched alkyl group which may optionally contain one heteroatom such as oxygen or nitrogen atom, an alkenyl group, a cycloalkyl or cycloaliphatic alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms; R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-3 alkyl or alkoxy group or halogen atom; Het represents a substituted or unsubstituted five-membered heterocyclic ring containing from 1 to 3 heteroatoms; tautomers thereof and acid addition salts of the aforesaid compounds, which comprises desulphurizing the corresponding thioureas.
