PURPOSE:To make such a valve as having secured sealability in a valve seat with the valve and being excellent in high-speed responsiveness attainable, by letting the plate valve touch or separate to or from a valve body according to pressure of fuel inside a pump chamber. CONSTITUTION:When the positive voltage is impressed on an electrostrictive element 1, displacement is produced in an axial direction, overcoming reaction force of a plate spring 10 whereby depressing a piston 7 and making pressure inside a pump chamber 2 go up, so that this pressure becomes more than the valve opening pressure decided on both magnetic and spring forces of a plate valve 4, thus fuel injection gets started. Then, fuel depresses a circumferential end part of the plate valve 4, while the discharged fuel collides with a spray angle correcting part 3b, therefore it comes to be spouted toward a lower part in consequence. Injection automatically stops if pressure inside the pump chamber 2 drops down to some extent. Afterward, if voltage in the electrostrictive element 1 is removed or the negative voltage is impressed, the electrostrictive element 1 contracts in the axial direction. |
