PURPOSE:To improve the starting characteristic and the flux maintaining characteristic by fixing Zr-Fe alloy getter to thin wire without contact in the vicinity of sealing portion of light emission tube which will come to the underside when lighting. CONSTITUTION:Protection film 9 composed of graphite layer and ZrO2 layer is applied onto the outercircumference of the electrode of light emission tube 3 which is remote from the base 1 and come to the underside when lighting. Getter 10 composed of powder of 77%Zr-23%Fe alloy is applied in the proximity of the sealing section 8 of light emission tube onto the opposite faces of Fe-Ni galvanized substrate 11 having the width of 8mm. by the length of 20mm. the welded to a wire 6. An auxiliary starting electrode is provided at the sealing section 7 of said tube near to the base 1 to apply opposite potential through an adjoining main electrode and a starting resistor 12. Consequently, good starting characteristic and flux maintaining characteristic are achieved while maintaining high efficiency. |
