PURPOSE:To count accurately the number of articles in a short time by providing a counter and a shutter which is operated according to the number of times of counting of the counter to plural branch paths as by-passes of an article movement passage, and counting articles. CONSTITUTION:Plural branch paths 4 are provided at both left and right side parts of a sliding way in the lengthwise direction of the sliding way 3a almost at equal intervals. One terminal of each branch path 4 communicates with the movement passage 3 and articles moving in the movement passage 3 are distributed to branch paths 4. A shutter 5 is provided near the one-terminal entrance of each branch path 4 and a counter 6 which counts articles is also arranged at an intermediate position of the branch path 4. The shutter 6 is arranged normally at an open position where one article is allowed to pass, and closes the branch path 4 when the number of times of counting of the counter 6 attains to a specific numeral. |
