NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R<2> is 1-21C alkyl; R<2> is H, benzyloxycerbonyl; R<3> is H, benzyl). EXAMPLE:2, 3, 2', 3'-Tetra-O-benzyl-6, 6'-di-O-carbobenzoxy-4,4'-di-O-decanoyl-alpha,alpha- tre-halose. USE:A surface active agent, carcinostatic agent with low toxicity. PREPARATION:The acylation reaction of 2,3,2',3'-tetra-O-benzyl-6,6'-di-O-carbobenzoxy-alpha,alpha-trehalose of formula II (Bn is benzyl) with an acylating agent of the formula: R<1>COY (Y is halogen, -OCOR<1>) are conducted, preferably at a molar ratio of 1:(2-6) in the presence of a base at 0 deg.C to room temperature for 10-70hr to give the compound of formula I where R<2>, R<3> are Bn.
